Music and Movement with Children

Workshop with children (or without!)
Saturday 21 November 2015 12 midday - 5pm
We will learn seasonal songs by ear, and by movement.
We will also touch on mealtimes and bedtimes and how they might be enlivened with living music and meaningful movement.
Course leader will share personal examples of therapeutic and harmonious applications to communities and families where the world of spatial orientation; where resonant vibration and rhythm are included.
"Are mudras handy for mealtimes?"
No previous experience necessary.
Children and adults of any age welcome.
WE will enjoy our time together learning about the environment, culture, creativity, and organic artistic expression.
Participants are welcome to bring and share a light homemade dish (preferably "Vegan", i.e. vegetarian without the use of any animal derived products, e.g. cheese, eggs)
for picnic during (or at the end of) the course

Course tutor has been making music with children and adults of all ages since the age of 3, in recent years with support from Steiner Waldorf pedagogical music therapy; Early Years Music (pre-birth onward); Mood of the Fifth and other Pentatonic and other healing Modes; former choral conductor and chorister for Cantare Chamber Choir, Omna Choir, Lough Derg Singers, Resound Global Choir; former Munster qualifier at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (Traditional singing category); movement and dance games for families, communities, and children; Kodàly music pedagogy; Song of the Goat theatre company body polyphonic and physical theatre; Chekhov Technique in dramaturgy; Gestalt psychodrama, Feldenkrais realignment, and life student of The Alexander Technique (natural body use through efficient release and alignment)
